Welcome to my store! I'm Paul Tulett, a photographer and author specializing in capturing the raw and unapologetic beauty of Brutalist architecture. My work is a tribute to the bold lines, striking forms, and concrete textures that define Brutalism, with a particular focus on the remarkable structures found across Japan, especially Okinawa.

My passion for Brutalist architecture stems from its ability to blend strength and simplicity, creating spaces that are both challenging and awe-inspiring. Through my lens, I aim to reveal the unique character of each building - showcasing the unexpected elegance of concrete and the stories embedded in the walls of these monumental structures.

My book, Brutalist Japan, is a comprehensive exploration of over 100 Brutalist buildings across Japan, featuring more than 220 photos and in-depth commentary. Published by Penguin Random House’s Prestel, it is a culmination of my deep fascination with the Brutalist style and my love for Japan's architectural landscape. It is the result of extensive travel around Japan and thorough research.

In this store you’ll find a curated collection of high-quality prints, posters, and calendars featuring my architectural photography. Each piece is crafted to bring the raw aesthetics of Brutalist architecture into your space, making a classy statement for any interior.

Thank you for visiting and supporting independent art. I hope my photography inspires you to see the beauty in the bold, the stark, and the unconventional. My aim is to promote understanding of this maligned and misunderstood style of architecture. Understanding breeds appreciation.

Feel free to explore and find the perfect piece that resonates with you!
